Crazy Drivers!

Ok, so yesterday I was heading off to work and there was some woman behind the wheel of a SUV with a Handicap sign hanging from her mirror. Well, as I was driving, she started slamming on her brakes, literally and she did it twice. I knew the light was green, and it was only a 35 mph limit. I don’t know if she was doing this on purpose or what, but I had to get the heck out of there. I changed lanes and I casually glanced over and noticed there was an Orange Mustang like 100 feet in front of her and she was just concentrating on the road. There was no phone in her hand, she wasn’t looking down, just driving.

I tell you some drivers are not cut out to be on the road.

A Rare Movie

Is it bad that when I was out grocery shopping with my Mom I noticed that they had the Jetson’s Movie? I remember when I was little I watched that show all the time. One time I watched this movie and had been looking for it ever since. Well, I bought it just to reminisce the old times.

Last Night

Alright so last night was so much fun. My mom and I went and played Bingo, there’s one behind our house and for the first time ever I won. My mom has won more than once. I remember it was the night before my b-day, I think a year ago, and we went and played. She ended up winning that Pot.  This time I was able to celebrate with my winnings.  The winning number came up on the screen and usually when I would get close to winning someone else would beat me to it so you can imagine how excited I was that No one screamed, “Bingo” before me.

Night of Babysitting

Not much to say except I’m at my brothers babysitting and watching Ferris Bueller’s Day Off on their TV. I finished my Advanced Illustration Final Project and so that’s a relief. I’m hungry….but I have to limit what I can have, not because I’m fat or anything (I’m not. Both of my parents are petite) but because I am at another person’s house. I already had a Pepperoni Pizza from Mr. Jim’s Pizza but even that didn’t satisfy me since I don’t like Pepperoni, except on French Bread Pizza that you can buy from the store.

Well back to studying more Photoshop….

You know You’re A…

You know you’re a Web Graphic Designer when the last two days you’ve been studying YouTube videos and tutorials in websites wanting to gain some vast knowledge and skills of how to create a great composition. Well, I did just that and more, more being I went and picked up some Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended Books. I know I know I can check out some of the videos on lynda.com, and I will. Believe me I will, however, when you go through having your computer crap out on you, you can’t very well watch those videos online let alone a small screen like my BlackBerry 9900. So, I’m going with another alternative: books. No, I don’t have a Nook or Tablet, yet. I do have an Amazon app on my phone, but like I said small screen. When I know I’ll be traveling or sitting somewhere for hours I want a book to read, the ones that have the step by step guide. I’m a visual type person, and I need something to guide me along the way. I just stumbled upon Practical Photoshop Magazine which you can subscribe to and be able to get all the tutorials sent right to your doorstep. This to me is Awesome!
Next up…Adobe Illustrator CS5 Extended Books, and Flash Books.

Oh yeah, one more thing. Upon watching some YouTube videos I created this Illustration in PS CS5 all with the brush tool. Now, be aware this was my first time working with brushes at this extremity and so bare with me if it doesn’t look exactly right.

Time Consuming Night

Okay, so I am working on my Final Project for Advanced Illustration and I chose Abduzeedo’s inspiration Skateboard Deck Illustration. I’m on step 16, and already am frustrated with the duplicate of triangles. First the ellipses were a pain in the butt, but I think I got the hang of it. At first I checked out the Ornate Lettering and I figured,”hey that would be cool to do”, but I wouldn’t know what type of swashes or any kind of background to use that is not formatted in Photoshop CS5+ and besides we’re working in Illustrator. Then I was trying to figure out the Comic Illustration, but I wanted to come up with my own…not sure if we can. Okay, maybe not my own persay but maybe a pre-existing comic book like Superman or something, and he’s ripping his shirt open to expose the Superman Logo, but I wanted to change that up just a little bit.  I’m really good at drawing people, just like quick sketches or so (example the children’s illustration assignment), but when it comes to formatting details and shadows like the Comic Illustration that is where my weakness lies. Also the sense of a realistic comic book figure is tough to imagine. I mean I have the sketch in my head, but bringing it to life on paper is more difficult because I would be creating it specifically from scratch, and knowing me it would look bad. Right now, I am looking through a drawing book containing fashion models and how to draw out their fashionable clothing. I might do the Comic Illustration,but instead of it being a Comic maybe a Fashion Designer poster instead with those models being shown or something.

Olive Garden and the Future

So my Mom and I went to the Olive Garden tonight because I had a Gift Card that I was just itching to use and since OG was advertising the, “Crusted Parmesan” theme for a limited of time, we decided to try it out. Though, looking at the Menu, I realized I am not a big fan of Ravioli and since the Parmesan Crusted Shrimp came on a plate with Ravioli, I passed on it and got the Grilled Shrimp Caprese. I am a huuuge shrimp fan ,more like a Shrimp a-holic haha and so you can imagine my thirst for the ooey-gooey of cheese melted with the angel hair pasta that came on the Grilled Shrimp Caprese. She couldn’t resist the Crusted Parmesan Shrimp idea and got that so that we could share. As we waited for our food we started thinking about the Future, and when I speak of Future I mean the “Mega Millions”, oh yeah the half a Billion Jackpot. “That is so much money I wouldn’t know what to do with it better yet even spend half a quarter of it.” I disagree, I know what I want to do. The future is something to really look into because it’s what you make it. Half A Billion is an enormous amount of money, but for some you’d be set for life. You could pay off a mortgage, debt, quit school or work, buy houses, cars…do whatever you wanted, but there are things to consider. People, you have to trust your instincts and decide who is your “true” friend and who is willing to manipulate you so easily to make you think they are trustworthy but are really after your money. Privacy, if you won that much money you can forget your normal life, you’d practically be a new celebrity and you’d have to fly out of the country to stay hidden. What kind of life would that be? Lonely, I’d say. Your friends would turn on you, you’d have a little bit of family, but in the end people would be jealous and your privacy would be exposed. Money is a huge amount of power, but using it in a malevolent manner can cost you everything you worked hard for. So be careful what you wish for.

Back To Reality

Alright, so I finally got my Laptop back. I am so happy. Well, it turned out to be a bad Hard Drive. I bought a new one last October. This would be my 5th Hard Drive, for this laptop. I never had this many problems with my first laptop which I only had to install 2 HD’s in a total of 6 years. Yes, you read right. My first laptop lasted me for 6 years. Though, it was quite bulky and heavy, the battery life lasted longer than this one. Oh, if only I could go back in time to where that first one still worked…oh well back to Reality. You know you’re back in the Stone Ages when you can’t rely on Technology when you need it. Now, I am not saying that my phone and laptop are my life…they exist to be big parts in my life because everything I do is on the computer. My Smartphone is with me 24/7. Now that I got my computer back, the exhausting and grueling part is to install everything back on it. Luckily, I have mostly everything backed up on my External Hard Drive and so that part is taken care of, thankfully.

Second, I called up BlackBerry Support Tech and talked to a Representative from RIM (Research In Motion), well he said he could not do a Warranty Replacement and that my Carrier was responsible for doing that. So, I called up AT&T and this Male Rep walked me through with wiping my phone and setting it back to factory settings. The net_rim_calendar app works now. I am able to open up the Calendar without it freezing my phone. However, the tricky part is installing all of my 40+ apps manually if after using BlackBerry Desktop Manager full restore fails to resolve the problem.

Like Being Back In the Stone Age

I hate this night and I’ll tell you why. First my 9900 has been acting up on me these past few weeks. The net_rim calendar appt app will not open anymore,the module is gone, and when pressing on it the whole phone freezes! The only way to fix it is to do a Battery Pull. Let’s not forget the Sound Profiles sometimes doesn’t work either; my Address Book is all screwed up with all of my Contacts numbers being mixed up with other Contacts. Now As of this night, My phone is dying and it looks like the charger port in my phone is resisting the USB cable! I just checked the phone’s battery meter and it’s Decreasing!!! It’s at 20 percent. At first, I thought it was my Rocketfish Wall Adapter, and the Surge Protector. Now I’m thinking it’s the phone itself. (Well the Seidio Battery Pack I have is working thank GOD so the phone is charging.) Man and I was just at ATT a couple of hours ago explaining my situation. They said to call up Blackberry Support Tech and basically get a Warranty Replacement. Oh, did I mention my Laptop is not functioning right either? Yeah it’s not it has some Error where Windows is not able to communicate with a device that was connected to my computer. Well I unplugged everything and then restarted it…now the darn thing still won’t fix itself. And I’m supposed to be dogsitting at my Brothers this weekend!!! I need my Laptop and my Phone. Oh man this is going to be a sucky weekend.
